Not Your Traditional Korean Joint {Han Ba Tang}

February 21, 2015

I wanted to try Han Ba Tang since they first opened. But I never seem to be able to find time even though they are just located in North York. There are countless number of Korean restaurants along Yonge street and Han Ba Tang stands out for me. They offer an exciting selection of Korean tapas with a fushion twist.

I really admire their decor with a mix of industrial and vintage touch. A lot of thought has put into every single decor pieces, from furniture to lighting fixtures to the cute little mason jar glasses. I love the vibe.

I personally love their creamy rice cakes the most and the bulgogi kimchi fries come to a near second. The rice cakes are soft yet chewy at the same time and the creamy sauce with mozzarella cheese just keeps me wanting more. The bulgogi kimchi fries is also one of the better ones out there, with generous amount of toppings, crispy fries, flavourful bulgogi, and actually spicy kimchi!

The spoon pizza (not in picture) is very interesting like its name suggested, it tastes like mashed potatoes with pizza toppings which makes me wonder if I can attempt this myself at home.

All in all, Han Ba Tang is a absolutely a great hangout place with a group of friends who appreciate chit chats and good food.
